Cheatin’, interview with cartoonist Bill Plymton

Cheatin' by Bill PlymtonOne of our favorite interviews of all time was animator, Bill Plympton.  He called in to talk about his feature length animated film, “Cheatin’.”  He used Kickstarter to fund his project as it was very expensive to make and that’s with a very small crew.  Plympton also draws every frame himself so it was quite time consuming as well.  About Cheatin’:

“CHEATIN’ is an animated adult tale of love, jealousy, revenge, and murder – full of nudity and violence, but also with my surreal sense of humor. The story is inspired by the work of James M. Cain (“Double Indemnity”, “The Postman Always Rings Twice”). CHEATIN’ marks my 7th animated feature film.”

Aside from checking out the Kickstarter page (just for information, the campaign has long since ended), you can also visit his Official Site.  Something I found interesting was to watch his Cheatin’ Production Video Blogs which can be seen on Vimeo.  Watch Bill Plympton’s whole process.  He can also be followed on Facebook and Twitter.  There is also a written blog at Blogspot and a YouTube channel.  Enjoy browsing through all of this as we do.

Here is the interview with Bill Plympton and below, a video explaining what Cheatin’ was trying to accomplish before it was funded.  Original air date:  1/22/13
